THE EXEMPLARY life of one Linda Hesse-Lartey of Michel Camp, near Tema, is a sheer reminder for upcoming ones to explore their talents or areas of interest early and make good use of them.
Linda, believed to be in her 30’s, acquired a 2-year Diploma in Public Relations and Advertising from the Ghana Institute of Journalism (GIJ) from 2000-2002.
However, after successfully completing her course she realized she was at the wrong place - her real interest was in beauty therapy.
Quickly, she enrolled at the X’EL School of Cosmetology in Accra in 2006 where she was trained in manicure and pedicure for 3 months.
She successfully graduated and has now opened her own barbering and nails shop - Facelift Barbering and Nail Place. The shop is located off the Tema Michel Camp road near the Police barrier.
Last Saturday, the shop was officially opened with a sod-cutting ceremony. It attracted quite a number of players in the beauty, media and music industries, as well as friends, family and well-wishers.
Among them were Madam Doreen Mensah, Proprietress of the X’EL School of Cosmetology, Marian Ocansey, a beautician, Akumah Mama Zimbi of Adom Fm, Patrick of Radio Gold and others.
The were also upcoming musicians including Tatale and Kwesi Gem, who thrilled guests with their compositions, even though they had problems with their microphones.
In an address, Miss Linda Hesse-Lartey said her interest in therapy stemmed from scrubbing the feet of family members.
“It all began like a mere dream some few years back when I got fascinated with helping people to enhance their beauty, focusing on nail care. My passion increased by the day and I found myself setting up work table at home to satisfy the strong urge in me.
I started practicing my experimentation on my family members and soon I realized I needed a professional training so I availed myself to one,” she said.
According to her, her dream had been fulfilled with the opening of Facelift Barbering and Nail Place and thanked God and her family, some of whom she presented parcels to at the ceremony.
Facelift is poised to offer excellent beauty care in professional nail technology and barbering with a touch of class. It aims at becoming a top class barbering and nail salon in Ghana, attracting majority of the middle class in society.
To meet this standard, Linda said “our shop is equipped with the most modern and state-of-the-art equipments with huge potentials to reach out to people from all walks of life, delivering special care to our clients.”
The shop has one of the most relaxed and friendly environments where clients are pampered. With moderate billing, Linda’s professional and hygienic staff are well prepared to offer the best of manicure, pedicure and foot massage as well very clean haircut.
