A movie about the real life story of a Ghanaian actress and an HIV Ambassador is set to premiere at the National Theatre on Friday, October 4.

The movie, My Cross Roads, captures actress Dzidzor Joyce Nartey's life changing story of pain, bitterness and inspiration.

The movie shows how she managed to surmount all the odds in life with admirable courage and did not allow stigmatization, scorn, molestation to dampen her spirit and decide her future.

Apart from Joyce Dzidzor Nartey, who has been an HIV Ambassador in Ghana for the past five years, the movie also stars some of Ghana's renowned movie stars. The list include, Ekow Smith Asante, John Dumelo and Vicky Zugah.

A statement from Joyce Dzidzor Nartey said the movie is aimed at intensifying education and to compliment government's effort to sensitize the public on the virus.

It will also, the statement added, intensify education on premarital sex and the dangers involved in it.

"Growing up from a very poor background I discovered my love for music and dance. I was very ambitious, passionate about my dancing skills. All effort to get help to go to school proved futile. I was vulnerable, most times raped. I had to attend all kinds of events in my neighborhood to exhibits my dancing skills. In my case there was no one to confide in. I hawked all kinds of things to make ends meet," the HIV Ambassador said.

She said in her effort to make a living, she contracted HIV. Joyce Dzidzor Nartey has since participated in seminars, workshops and schools telling her story on how she contacted the HIV.
