MAVIS EYRAM Dotse, first runner-up of last year’s TV3 Ghana’s Most Beautiful reality show is in the news again following her quest to improve sanitation through education to help keep our environment clean.

As her valentine gift to society and children in particular, Eyram has started touring some schools in Accra to push her agenda through. On Tuesday she told BEATWAVES, “Tomorrow I will be visiting some cluster of schools at Kotobabi to educate the children on the need to keep our environment clean. After that, on Friday I will also be visiting some schools in Nima including St. Kizito to do same.

“This will be my valentine gift to the children. I will also be giving them some souvenirs in addition.”

According to Eyram, it is good that now we are cleaning everywhere. However, it is also important that we change our attitude of littering the environment. “If we are cleaning the environment and we are not changing our attitude, then we will keep on cleaning and cleaning and cleaning. So my priority, however, is to educate the children to change this unhealthy attitude of throwing rubber and waste materials around. When the children change, at least that would, to some extent, influence the elderly too.”

Eyram has already visited a number of schools in Ghana including the Volta and Northern regions to sensitize the people to keep their environment clean as well as maintain good personal hygiene.
