Education is the key to Ghana’s development, that is why the nation invests so much money into ensuring that Ghanaian youth get as much as they require. Various independent bodies and individuals realise the importance of education as well and make efforts to contribute their quota.

Miss Malaika Ghana 2009, Tamara Aku Dzormeku, is one such person who hopes to make a difference.

She was recently the special guest at the speech and prize giving day at Holy Child Senior High School in the Central Region where she donated some books curtsey Unimax Macmillan and cloth from ATL fabric to some deserving students and staff of the school.

Tamara who was the Library Prefect of Holy Child while she was there also donated some books to the library to expand the range of books that the students could access. She took the opportunity to encourage the students to study as hard as they possibly can because the only “limitations that one has is themselves”.

The young medical student who was chosen to wear the Malaika crown for a year asked the young ladies in the SHS to view intimidations that come their way as challenges that they can successfully surmount with effort and hard work.  She told the students to be mindful of authority as they only want the best for them.

Tamara extended a warm arm of congratulation to the Headmistress of the school, Mrs. Veronica Minta Nyako and her able Assistants, Rev. Sister Josephine and Mr. Alex Agyekum as well as all members of staff for the excellent work they have been doing all these years.
