Ada Asafotufiami to be climaxed with a beauty pageant- EventComm Ghana

To revive, the rich cultural heritage and values of the people in the Dangbe community, EventComm Ghana, an event management agency, has instituted a beauty pageant for the indigenes of the area.

The event aimed at inculcating into the youth the rich Dangme Cultural values and traditions would climax the Ada Asafotufiami festival in August 2013.

It is being organised in collaboration with the Ghana Tourist Authority and is under the theme “Promoting and Sustaining our Culture, the Role of the Youth”.

A statement copied to the Ghana News Agency and signed by Mr Ebenezer Bessey, Chief Executive Officer, EventComm Ghana, cited poetry recitals, music, dance and drama, folklores tales, traditional food cooking competition, and courtesy call on the paramount chief of the Ada Traditional Area as some of the activities earmarked for the celebration.

It said “the main highlight of the event would be the the selection of a Dangme young lady well versed in the Dangme traditional customs to be crowned as the “Dangme Cultural Ambassador 2013”.

The statement said the ambassador would champion programmes that would seek to impact cultural values and moral ethic through viable communication forms to help bring about solidarity and a sense of belonging to the Dangme people.

The statement said EventComm would also work on building a Dangme Cultural ICT facility to enhance education and research for the youth in the community.

It said “the facility when completed, is expected to boost tourism and provide relevant information to both local and foreign tourists about the rich cultural values, history and symbols of the Dangme people”.

The winner for the event would receive GHȼ500, laptop, a one year modeling contract with Walk Africa, free flower and deco training amongst other prizes.
